MCT Oil to the Rescue

Honestly, some days are just better than others. I get up and view the world in a half full kind of way. Other days, it just seems like I am in the middle of a half perhaps maybe whole-life crisis.
I try to see what there is, instead of what there isn’t, but it can be hard when I shed more blonde hair than an Afghan pure breed. There are changes that come with aging. Like all of a sudden, when you look with a quick side glance in the mirror, and you see your mom or worst yet, your dad, staring back at you. What the Heck!
So, what is an aging goddess to do?
I say fight back. I say simplify.
Yes, it is widely known we must manage our diet, get some exercise, get quality rest and wear your glasses when driving and always for restaurant menus. Cell phone lights are optional.
I have found that as the years have moved forward, I just want to have stuff in my life work.
I want it uncomplicated and not have too many steps. I want some ease. I want some simplicity.
I used to have a collection of makeup, especially skin care and hair care products. Shelves and drawers with so many options. Many of them not really doing such a great job, but Allure or Cosmetic Surgeons are Us magazine told me they were the top 10 BEST.
Who was I to question such a holy grail directive. They have a team of experts and effectiveness trials. I needed them to solve my dark circles, dry patches and loss of collagen.
One day, with my rosacea in full bloom and my mascara still smearing from my pricey eye only moisturizer, under my fix it all serum, under my concealer and my “must wear” sunblock, I decided, OMG…… this is enough!
This is not even working. I’m using all this stuff and I am still getting older.
I did not see an 88% reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
I did not see shiny, voluminous, thick, and frizz free hair.
I did not see age spots disappear, fade or even soften for that matter.
I did not notice that morning youthful glow that turns back time.
I did not see my sagging neck and decolletage firm up and be crease free.
Nope, Nothing.
Maybe a little moisturized, but that could be oily residue from my over active combination skin or just from combining all this stuff.
Yes, you can get some RX strength product. It might help, but in order to get softer, smoother skin, you first need to shed like a snake for 4-6 months. Or you can get serious. You can try lasers, peels, vampire facials or even the big “S”, SURGERY. These actually do help de-age.
They just hurt, cost a lot and have some significant ugly downtime.
I finally decided that MCT or basic virgin coconut oil is my friend. It’s simple. It’s affordable.
It takes off makeup. It oil cleanses your skin. It moisturizes everything. Take that Astro glide!
It travels well through customs. I like it!
It's settled then. It’s just me and my MCT Oil, a few cotton pads and maybe some rose witch hazel for toner. I’ll need a large whiskey on the rocks for the rest of my crisis.
