Find Your Inner Baddie Winkle

Everything else will follow.

To get you current, Baddie Winkle is Helen Ruth Van Winkle an 88 + year old great grandma who also happens to be a blazing hot internet personality. You can find her colorful self on Instagram: @baddiewinkle, where she says she has been “stealing UR man since 1928”. Baddie is one feisty, no limits lady, who does what she wants and doesn’t want to be told she can’t. She dresses with enthusiasm. She wears whatever the heck she wants. She has no fear of thigh high pink vinyl stilettos, sheer mini dresses and big rapper bling. Nothing is off limits, even leaves. She likes to wear clothes that make her feel like a “bad ass” and she does.

What if we all got our Baddie Winkle on? Not just wearing out of your comfort zone stuff but what if we just lightened up some, had some fun with what is left of life. What if we cared absolutely nothing about what everyone else thought was success and stopped accepting that we can’t or shouldn’t? What if we too, were never too old to party?

For one thing, color and texture would rule. No longer would your bobbed hair be confined to grown out grey frizz. You could try a hot pink or violet hair glaze and match it with that extra fluffy fake fur jacket you saw at Goodwill. Maybe color match Fido. Go ahead wear lots of cheap bangles with lingerie and channel your best version of Madonna. Please, just not the one with the bullet bra or the one with the enhanced butt cheeks that needed to have a twerk off with Ariana Grande.

When you let go, and live in your fun place, lots of things begin to happen.

  • Increased Confidence

  • Lower Stress Levels

  • Fewer Regrets

  • Expanded Comfort Zone

  • Reconnection to Inner Self

  • Creativity Unleashed

  • Fears Conquered

It takes a lot of balls or kegels, to put it all on and walk it on over to the local Pic & Save store.

Seriously, I have trouble just getting out the door, if my bra straps are showing.

Let’s just say we try to do a little something outside our comfort zone. Not sure what that is? Study Hollywood stylists. See the crazy things they do to their clients. Copy them. Once you go into Walmart and pick up your blood pressure meds in your creation, you will conquer your fear of being laughed at. It’s cumulative. Remember ‘Sticks and Stones”.

My point is, take some chances, be the bad ass, just not the mean ass. Don’t let age define you. Live your life with a purpose. Your purpose being, to laugh at stuff, often yourself, and not let it all get away before it’s all gone. Personally, because I want to practice what I am saying, I’m heading on out to find me some of those thigh high pink vinyl stiletto boots. Well, OK, maybe not the pink ones!

They be bad ass.

They be fire, fly, on fleek, on point!

Ok, so maybe not even the thigh high boots for me, but I could rock some Valentino Rockstud Leopard T-strap pumps. I probably need to settle for the affordably priced knocks-offs, though.

There you have it. The way to start living your life again, finding your happiness, and discovering your inner passion. I mean, finding your inner Baddie Winkle.

Go on then, get out there and wear something fun and don’t give a F*ck. Set your crazy self, free!
